Ya make me envious of your young ears that allow you to be audiophiles. Nowadays, decent bass is what gets me through. :)

I don't think it has much to do with age. Obviously Neil can still still appreciate great sound.

Having stood in front of Crazy Horse for 40 years, I am amazed. He must have great ear plugs or something.

"heats never burns
Delivering pure, clean vapor. Since Pax does not heat to combustion there is no smoke nor secondhand smoke."

Sounds like marketing bullshit to me. If something is already combusting it doesn't need additional heat added. fire triangle (heat, fuel, oxygen) and all that.

Unless they just mean warm, fluffy updrafts that smell good. (How's that for a perfect set SDH?)

Which takes us back to the combustion marketing bullshit thingie....

They have had these since at least 1990. I used one with the original inventor (also a Deadhead) in Amsterdam on the street outside the Hash Info Museum. He was adamant about the healthful aspects of the device. Carcinogens are produced by the burning of the carbon based matter, this achieves a specific Temp where the essential oils are turned to vapor and the other material does not achieve the temp required to combust. Many are in use today around the globe.

Competing against the world's largest company is a fool's paradise. I like his Eco 50s Buick much better. Plus, I love Neil, but having experienced the sound quality at his shows and on some of his albums, I question his judgment in this area.

Oh it certainly isn't bullshit. Never been a big fan of vaporizers though. Releasing a huge cloud of smoke is part of the enjoyment for me, but vaps certainly come in handy when trying to be discreet. People will just think you burnt some popcorn! (that's what it smells like).

Sounds really great but just hope you're not holding your breath. Flea had to get in Young's car for the demonstration because it currently takes the trunk of his car to hold all the necessary hardware.
2013 sounds remarkably optimistic as a target date for getting it down to something you hold in your hand.

Sure. A prototype, mock-up, what have you. It's solid salesmanship.
But we're talking a timeline for when these things start getting made for real and turning up under Christmas trees.
This article ran in the New York times earlier this month:
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/23/magazine/neil-young-comes-clean.html?pagewanted=all&;_r=0

"Right now, it needs a trunk full of gear, but Young and Roberts are working with a British manufacturer to come up with a portable version."
